Nancy Long, LMHC
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
With over 30 years of experience, I have an extensive background working with adolescents, college students, adults and families. Drawing from evidence based therapy approaches, I guide clients in working through issues such as self esteem, adjustment, identity and purpose, depression, anxiety, relationships, and loss. If given consent, I provide comprehensive care, working collaboratively with families, psychiatrists, teachers and physicians.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is of utmost importance and is built on trust, compassion, non- judgement and a gentle presence. I respectfully meet the client wherever they are in their process, creating a safe atmosphere to explore issues affecting functioning and overall well being. Therapeutic goals often involve deeper insight, understanding and coping tools to move forward toward improved healthy relationships with self and others.
For some, walking may help to release tension and ease their therapeutic process. I offer walk/talk therapy through the Legacy Trail located directly next door to the office. In addition to being a Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am a Certified Restorative Yoga Instructor and am passionate to support others in discovering their own healing power, comfort and ease.
