I specialize in providing support for children, adults, and families. In the 26 years that I have served children and families, I’ve utilized evidenced based strategies to encourage mindfulness of one’s feelings, thoughts and intentions. I strive to provide a nurturing, warm atmosphere. My clients often gain a better understanding of how they can influence their own personal well-being.
When helping children deal with behavioral, mental health, trauma and relationship issues, I help children discover the most comfortable way of self-expression for them. I include humor and playfulness in sessions. I have had great success using expressive therapies including art, writing, drama, music, and movement therapies. I also enjoy walk and talk sessions with older children and teens who are more comfortable outdoors and moving.
I often approach each family member’s role in the dynamic of the family and invite them to explore responsibility for their part in the well-being of the family as a whole.
In working with adults, I have found that individuals who are seeking help often need a witness to their pain in order to process their feelings and move through them. This is accomplished through a journey of self-discovery leading to a more content and joyful life.
