As a clinical psychologist who specializes in anxiety and OCD in children and adolescents, I am always looking for ways to improve access to high quality, specialized care. Life transitions such as moving out of state or relocating to attend college should not interrupt therapeutic progress. That is why, for the third year, I completed the additional certifications required to be a PSYPACT approved provider. PSYPACT is an interstate agreement that helps remove barriers to mental health care across state lines.
What is PSYPACT?
PSYPACT is an interstate compact that allows approved and licensed psychologists in participating states to offer telepsychology services to clients who are physically located in other PSYPACT participating states.
How PSYPACT Helps Clients Including Teens, College Students, and Families on the Move
• Continuity of care during relocation: That means if you start therapy with me while you are living in Florida and later move to a different PSYPACT state for college, work, or other reasons, I may still be able to continue working with you through telehealth without the need to start over with a new therapist.
• Access to specialists regardless of location: Not every state has clinicians who specialize in child or teen OCD and anxiety. PSYPACT expands your access to specialists like me, even if you live in or move to a place with limited mental health resources.
• More flexibility for families: For families who divide time between states or experience frequent moves, PSYPACT makes it easier to maintain consistent care without repeatedly searching for new providers.
If you or your teen expects a move or if you already live in another PSYPACT state and need access to a specialized clinician, PSYPACT may allow us to work together without interruption.
